Meeting Pearl

 This is Pearl. We named her pearl due to her being small and very white. It just seemed fitting. My initial impression when I found out we were working with rats in class was a little indifferent. I didn’t love the idea, because I thought they looked a little scary with their white eyes, and I've never owned or held a rat before. After getting assigned my rat and getting to hold it throughout the week, my impression of the rat has changed. I do think Pearl is very cute and funny. She loves to burrow into you and cuddle up, and she also loves to try and crawl to play with your hair which always makes me laugh. I am significantly more comfortable about Pearl and the other rats than expected, and holding her gives me no issues at all.
